12,300+ Parcel Rezoning in Columbus, Ohio
Columbus, Ohio has just conducted the probably most exciting zoning code update yet. In March the city council has passed an ordinance that effectively replaces the old zoning code with a transformative version created by Lisa Wise Consulting Inc. The new zoning code (Title 34) is focused on walkability, mixed-used developments, and a stark decrease in parking requirements. This initiative aims to create a more effective, equitable, and sustainable framework for guiding land use, development, and growth. Read More.
Writer’s Opinion: Title 34 isn’t officially published yet, however, looking at the draft, we quickly noticed an increase in building heights, decrease in parking requirements & setbacks, and a push for higher density mixed-use developments. The dream of any urbanist.
